About the Makers:

This piece was created by tonlé, a Cambodian brand that set the standard for zero-waste fashion and home goods from 2008 to 2023. Founded on the principle that nothing should go to waste, tonlé transformed textile scraps and remnants from Cambodia's garment industry into thoughtfully designed products for both wardrobe and home. Through their innovative approach to sustainable production, ethical manufacturing practices, and commitment to local artisans, tonlé proved that beautiful, functional home goods could be created entirely from materials destined for landfills. Though the brand closed in 2023, this piece represents one of the last remaining items from tonlé's legacy—a testament to their vision of a more sustainable lifestyle.

This piece was created through tonlé's signature zero-waste production process, transforming textile scraps and remnants from Cambodia's garment industry into functional home goods. Using innovative design techniques and thoughtful construction, tonlé maximized every piece of fabric while maintaining high standards for quality and craftsmanship. Through their commitment to ethical manufacturing and collaboration with skilled local artisans, each item represents the brand's vision for sustainable living. As one of the last remaining tonlé pieces available, this homeware embodies 15 years of innovation in zero-waste design and ethical production practices that helped reshape how we think about everyday objects in our homes.

Materials and Care:

The upcycled textile is handwoven from strips of upcycled jersey textile yarn through our sustainable, zero waste process in which no fabric goes unused. Each unique piece will have slight variations in size and texture due to the handmade and recycled nature of the textile.

We believe in creating products that last. To keep your tonlé homeware looking its best while minimizing environmental impact:

  • Spot clean when possible
  • Hand wash in cold water if needed
  • Lay flat or hang to dry in shade
  • Iron on low heat if desired
  • Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve colors

These care practices help extend your item's life while reducing energy use and protecting our waterways. As one of the last remaining tonlé pieces, proper care will help preserve this item's legacy for years to come.
